About
Xiaoxiao Yang is originally from Guangzhou, China and is currently based in Philadelphia. She began her piano studies at the age five and grew up actively performing throughout her childhood years in gymnastics and singing. She earned a Masters of Music degree in Chinese Vocal Performance from the Xinghai Conservatory of Music in China, and later completed a second Master of Music degree in Classical Vocal Performance at Temple University in Philadelphia. During her study at Temple University, Ms.Yang performed in Suor Angelica and appeared in a variety of roles with the Boyer College Opera Workshop, including Giulietta, Violetta, and Elektra.
In the summer of 2022, Mrs. Yang made her European debut as Valetto in Monterverdi‘s L’incoronazione di Poppea at the Saluzzo Opera Academy in Italy, and performed the role of Sister Dolcina in Puccini‘s Suor Angelica at the Berlin Opera Academy in Germany. In the summer of 2023, she appeared as Musetta in Puccini‘ La Bohème at the International Summer Opera Festival (Serbia), and in the summer of 2025, she performed the same role with Urbania Summer Opera Festival in Italy. Mrs. Yang is the recipient of the First Prize and the Special Judges' Award at the 2017 Hong Kong International Vocal Competition. She has been invited on multiple occasions to perform as a soloist at international galas and major Chinese events, including the American Chinese National Collaboration Summit Gala, the New York Woodstock 50th Anniversary Concert, performances hosted by the Chinese Guangzhou Province Government, and Shenzhen Coast New Year Concert.
